Join us for an intense bill of Butoh, new work, and noise. CHIMAERA kicks off its ‘26 tour with its eponymous debut work. DC-based movement duo comes to NYC for the first time to premiere their new work “Coniunctio.” NYC-based movement and noise duo showcase a fragment of their upcoming ensemble piece.
CHIMAERA is a Butoh, sound, and art collaborative duo Oscar Suh-Rodriguez and Eilish Henderson. Their mutual passion for Butoh, poetry, music, and sound has brought about their collaborative auteur philosophy: music, choreography, costuming–miniature landscapes created jointly. Their eponymous debut collaboration “CHIMAERA” was created over a nine month period and serves as a culmination of their experiences and discoveries. Coniunctio by Alex Shanahan and Kalena Sills is a work at the edge of emergence. Fragments of a singular memory remembering itself inside of the softening of thresholds, a piece inhabited by experience as it negotiates form.
Originally a collaboration between life partners Jordan Patt and Jon Perry Davis, Paint Horse has expanded its sights beyond the duo, inviting three new dancers into its pasture. Ryan Redmond, Yining Chi & Cheryl Rosario join Paint Horse in this exploration of movement, object and noise. Shape, trust, nostalgia, vibration, wind; desire all have wound themselves into this work. The dancers create a world where they have autonomy to morph the elements around them, changing the shape, cultivating soundscapes from their own bodies; inviting the audience into their dreamscape.
